Matsutake
Kennels was registered as my kennel name about 25 years ago.
It was permanently registered at a time when CKC rules regarding
permanent registry were that the owner had to have bred at least ten dogs
that became Canadian Champions.
I have never actually counted the number of Canadian Champions I
have bred or owned, but they include Beagles, Akitas, Shih Tzu, Doberman Pinschers,
and Standard Wire-haired Dachshunds.
My first time in the ring at a Canadian Kennel Club show was in
1964, so if it seems like I have had many dogs, I have. Forty years
with purebred dogs has given me the opportunity to enjoy them, as well as
many wonderful "mutts", that have been a part of my life. |

Over
the past 65 years, my family has had many breeds of purebred dogs. The
photo at right is of my grandfather Eric Hibbert in the 1940s. I have
been involved for over 40 years myself.
Animals, and especially dogs, have been an important part of
my life for as long as I can remember. A dog has been beside me through good times and bad.

My husband Hal, and our extended
family have participated in many ways with the dogs.
Their help in socializing, cuddling, helping whelping, emergency
vet trips, kennel construction......and the list goes on, has been
invaluable to me and the dogs. |
Rocky, Bear, Hickory, Moppit, Montel, Trucker - so many more, and so many
wonderful memories.
